Who handles the utilities?
Our tenants are responsible for all utilities. Gas, electric, and water must be set up in your name starting on the first day of your lease. You may call and set up these utility transfers ahead of time.
Gas & Electric
DTE Energy provides gas and electric in Michigan. You can contact them at (800) 477-4747 or

- When you call DTE: press “1” for “Residential Service”.
- When the automated operator begins to speak state, “Customer Service”. Tell the operator you want the gas and electric turned on at your new address.
- Make sure to get your confirmation number.
Water
Depending on the house, Water service is provided by the City of Ann Arbor or Pittsfield Charter Township.

Cable/Internet
All of our houses are cable ready. Cable TV & Internet services are provided by Comcast, 1-800-Comcast.
Garbage Pick-up
Recycling information
Recycling pick up is provided to all houses in Ann Arbor by the City of Ann Arbor Public Services/Solid Waste on the same day as garbage pick-up. Visit
